happy family...

This family is amazing, with 7 children they are as calm as can be and are such loving, giving parents - it was an honor to photograph their big, happy family. Jenny wanted to do the session by the train she drives by every day, so this fun location was her idea and I love it. I'll admit it's no easy task to get lots of little kids to look at you at the same time, all with happy faces, so the goal was just to get everyone looking at the camera with eyes open! We captured some great photos of this wonderful family, and it was even a chilly 40 degrees - thanks you guys, you are such troopers!

the realities of a photo shoot with 7 kiddos! for the records...

a little princess among them...

These cute kids lived next door to me for 2 years, now they are way too far away (down the street). They are a little too comfortable with me so they didn't think my jokes were all that funny or my threats:) were all that scary (kind of like taking pics of my own kids). But we got some great shots anyway, and of course we had to get lots of extras of the only little girl in the family...thanks you cutie stinkers!

Reese kept doing this pose (cute but not my favorite), I later found out she'd just been to Disneyland and all the princesses taught her this is how a princess smiles for the camera!

little sis...

These summery, tan skin pictures look funny next to the snow and hat pics, but here's the story. My sister Meg left to Hawaii for school 8 years ago and she's lived there ever since - can't say I blame her, but I MISS her and her darling little family! She was here this summer for another sister's wedding so we did a quick family session (just posting now b/c I finally had the chance to edit it! sorry Meg, you don't pay me:) Since they live a block from the beach I thought this location would jive with their style and their house. Next time guys, no problem if you want me to do a session in your neighborhood...!

little women...

My sweet friend Lizzy came up for a photo shoot and braved 38 degrees to get these pictures! I have known Lizzy for 12 years, I met her the first week I attended our married student ward as a new, new newlywed! Darling Ellie was a baby and now she is a gorgeous teenager. I love life long friends. And I love photographing their children. Your girls are beautiful Lizzy, show them off with a Christmas card this year!
